Waterproof cable gland

A cable gland is a mechanical sealing device used for cable entry points, primarily designed to prevent the ingress of water, dust, oil, and other external contaminants into electrical equipment or junction boxes.

1. Waterproof & Protection Ratings

• IP68: The highest ingress protection rating, ensuring complete waterproof and dustproof performance. Suitable for long-term submersion or high-pressure washing (e.g., marine equipment, underground installations).

• Multi-Layer Sealing System:

  • Inner Seal Ring: Compresses tightly against the cable jacket to block moisture penetration.

  • Outer Locking Nut: Enhances sealing via mechanical compression for added protection.

2. Material & Environmental Resistance

• Housing Material:

  • Nylon (PA66): Lightweight, UV-resistant—ideal for standard outdoor use.

  • Brass/Stainless Steel: Corrosion- and impact-resistant, designed for extreme conditions (e.g., chemical plants, marine/saltwater exposure).

• Seal Material:

  • EPDM Rubber: Resists ozone and aging (-40°C to +120°C).

  • Silicone: Superior high-/low-temperature tolerance (-60°C to +200°C).
